Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. She has previously recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry announced her new song Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano in her basement, and being fascinated at the sound it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get work or for a passion however, as a chance to develop. She began to write writing her own songs. Her inspirations include famous authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her affinity with Bjork's style. When her mother told her that her songs could not only help her achieve fame however, they could also help others understand their value to the world and appreciate what can be done with the songs, she decided to begin singing in public. The piano was her first instrument, at six. She started making music at the age of nine. The family did not be aware of this until she reached the age of 14. The dream was never to be Aurora. She claims that she enjoys composing songs. According to her, she believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
