Adults are human being or any other animal that has attained the full growth.The biological definition of the term refers to animals that have reached sexual maturity, which makes it capable of reproducing. In the human context, the term adult has meanings associated with social and legal concepts. As opposed to "minor" (or "non-adult", a legal-age adult is a person who has achieved the age of majority. They are thought to be competent, responsible and independent. The word "major" can be used to describe them. The age for achieving legal adulthood is 18, but the definition can vary based on laws, countries and the level of development in psychological terms.

If a person attains full physical and intellectual maturity, it is referred to as adulthood. Adulthood is commonly believed to start around the age of 20 or 21. Then, after middle age (starting about 40 years old) then comes old age (around the age of 60). The adulthood process is split into three stages that are: early adulthood (18-mid-30s), mid-30s-mid-60s, and the final stage of adulthood, mid-60s to end of life. Physical maturation has been completed at the point we are in the early years of adulthood (20-40s), although height and weight might increase slightly. As we enter our early adulthood our physical capabilities are at their best such as muscle strength, reaction time, sensory abilities, and the functioning of our heart.
